History of the Panama City, Florida SAR Chapter

Located in the Florida Panhandle, the Chapter was chartered on September 27, 1973, the 21st in the FLSSAR
Membership was 17 Patriots.  Thomas Y. Bingham was the first President.
Since 1976 The Chapter has regularly presented Junior ROTC Medals to several local high schools.

Colonel Henry L. Hinkle served as Florida Society Registrar and as Northwest Regional Vice President 1982-83.

At the FLSSAR Annual Meeting in May 1989, Calvin E. Sutherd received the Traveling Plaque and President Bobby Hamilton
(the Northwest Regional Vice President 1989-90) a Meritorious Service Medal.
